The Annual Grand Prix and Foundation Business Breakfasts
This year’s Grand Prix Breakfast was held trackside in the Chicane Pavilion on Tuesday 5 April with CEO of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, Andrew Westacott (OW1982).
The format was an informal 'in conversation' with Pete Lazer (OW1995). Andrew recalled his school days at Wesley as part of a strong and supportive group of 1982 leavers and spoke about his early professional career and his current role. He discussed the great challenges posed by COVID, the sudden cancellation of last year’s event and how the race has bounced back more popular than ever this year.
Our 14th Annual Business Breakfast on Wednesday 25 May featured an outstanding panel discussing 'Business Post Pandemic'. Moderated by Graeme Samuel AC (OW1963), the conversation focussed on living and doing business in a world that is continuing to deal with the impact of COVID.
Each of the panellists brought their wealth of experience and informed opinions to this topic: Katie Page, CEO at Harvey Norman, Anthony Eisen, Afterpay Founder and Michelle Jablko (OW1990), CFO at Transurban. Some of the themes highlighted included resilience and adaptation in business, a willingness to be flexible in our work habits and striking a balance working from home and in the office. Maintaining connections with colleagues was also seen as vital to an organisation’s success.
